Small Biz AI HQ started from a simple frustration: most writing about AI is aimed at developers or enterprise buyers, and assumes a dedicated IT or research team. Most small businesses don’t have that. Owners and managers need to understand what’s actually changing in their sector, and which tools are worth an hour of their time — in plain language, without the hype.
What we cover
- Industry briefings — how AI is changing healthcare, finance, education, retail, manufacturing, marketing, law, agriculture, transportation, energy, cybersecurity, real estate, insurance, HR, customer service, and media. Each briefing explains what the technology does today, where it falls short, and what a smaller business can realistically take from it.
- AI tool guides — step-by-step tutorials for the tools people actually use day to day, such as ChatGPT, Claude, Canva Magic Studio, Perplexity, Zapier, and Midjourney.
Who we write for
Our readers are owners, freelancers, office managers, and team leads at businesses with somewhere between one and a few hundred people. They’re busy, practical, and sceptical of anything that sounds like a sales pitch. If an article wouldn’t help someone make a better decision on a Monday morning, we don’t publish it.
Editorial policy
- Independence. We don’t accept payment to feature a tool, and sponsorships never decide which topic we cover next. If we ever publish affiliate links or sponsored content, it will be clearly labelled on the page.
- Sources. We check claims against vendor documentation, published research, regulators’ guidance, and reputable reporting. Where we test a tool ourselves, we say so.
- Plain English. We explain jargon the first time we use it and avoid unsupported numbers.
- Balance. Every briefing covers limitations and risks — cost, accuracy, privacy, bias, and regulation — not just the upside.
- Updates. AI tools change quickly. When a feature, price, or rule changes, we update the article rather than leaving it stale.
- Corrections. If you spot an error, tell us. We review every report and correct confirmed mistakes promptly.
How we use AI ourselves
We use AI tools the same way we recommend readers do: for research help, outlines, and first drafts. Every article is reviewed, fact-checked, and edited by a person before publication, and a person is responsible for what we publish.
